Fast Fat Loss Habits - Change Your Behavior to Lose Fat Easily


In a previous article I mentioned the simple behavior changes I ask my clients to make in order to lose fat. The point I was making was a lot of people already know what kind of foods they should be eating (I would hope that most people reading this know that chicken salad is better than a chocolate bar), the problem is they just don't do it. The truth is; logic and willpower are extremely weak compared to habit. So you may know exactly what you need to eat (in fact I rarely meet an overweight client who isn't well informed about nutrition), but simply knowing isn't enough if your daily habits mean that you can't actually stick to a healthy diet.

The key to fast, easy fat loss is developing new habits which are in line with your fat loss efforts.

I call these the Fast Fat Loss Habits

1 - Throw out your crap. If you have bad food in the house you will eat it. Simple. Stop kidding yourself that your buying it in case you have guests and only put food in your kitchen if you know it will help you lose weight. I also recommend that you never shop when you are hungry as you are far more likely to make bad purchases. Make a list of healthy foods, then go out and buy them and don't get distracted! If you go off the plan and buy terrible food, make no mistake; you will not lose weight!

2 - Stop unconscious eating. Unconscious eating nearly always leads to OVER-eating. This refers to any type of eating where you are not engaged with the actual experience of eating, your distracted. A very common example is eating in front of the TV. If you are doing this now stop. Another common trait I see among overweight people is actually being distracted by the food itself - in other words, overweight people spend more time thinking about the next spoonful than the one which is actually in their mouth! Think about it; when you are chewing your food, are you holding another forkful in your hand, hovering near your mouth ready to be thrown in the second you swallow your current mouthful so as not to lose even one second of precious chewing time? Here's a suggestion; SLOW DOWN! Put down your fork or, if you're eating with your hands, peel those fingers off the sandwich, put the thing down and actually enjoy and experience the food you have in your mouth. One good techniques is chewing each morsel of food 100 times. Then when you have swallowed, take at least one minute before your next bite. This allows your brain to keep up with what you are eating and tell you when you are full.

I have personally witnessed clients drop 5lbs in 2 weeks using only this method. How easy is that? Free, fast fat loss with extremely little effort. Awesome or what?

3 - Buy some Tupperware. It's an unassailable fact that the person with the most Tupperware in their bag is usually be the person in the best shape. In other words, the more you prepare and bring your own food to work the quicker you will lose weight. I suggest you begin by coming up with two simple recipes which you can prepare the night before for example a tuna salad and a chicken and avocado salad. The recipes don't matter right now (though obviously they should be healthy), what matters is you get in the habit of preparing food in advance. This is CRUCIAL to achieving fast fat loss and lifelong health.

4 - Have a breakfast. Everybody says they haven't got time to have breakfast. Sorry folks but you are not that busy, I don't care who you are or what you do but you have time to have breakfast. At the very least you have time mix a protein shake and grab a handful of mixed nuts before you head out the door in the morning. But really what people mean when they say "I don't have time for breakfast" is "I like hitting the snooze button 20 times before I drag my butt out of bed". Make the commitment, do you want to get up 10 minutes earlier or do you want to be fat and out of shape for the rest of your life. Again, the food choice is less important than getting in the habit of having SOMETHING! But obviously you should choose something healthy such as an omelette or some oats and berries.

There we have it then, the four fast fat loss habits. Pair this with a highly effective and proven weight loss program and you will see fantastic results in very little time. Now you have no excuse, make the changes and start losing fat today.
