Do You Know These 3 Crucial Factors of Easy Weight Loss Diets?

There are tens of thousands of weight loss diets on the market. Last count I heard there was around 50,000 diet type books available for purchase. Wow!

Many of these diet plans promise everything from miracles to some version of instant results. And don't forget that weight loss marketers love to tell people how "easy" it is to lose weight on their diet plan.

This article will help you understand the roadblocks to dieting and show the three things that a diet plan must have to qualify as easy.

Definition of "Easy"

Easy is defined as not hard or difficult; requiring no great labor or effort. An easy reading book would be "Cat In The Hat". So, can a weight loss diet be considered as easy as reading "Cat In The Hat?

It depends...

It depends on how much weight you have to lose.

Losing 100 pounds of fat probably wouldn't be easy no matter what diet plan you followed.

It depends on what shape you are currently in.

I work with a woman who needs back surgery, she's in her late sixties and needs to lose at least 50 pounds before the doctor will perform the operation. Considering the fact that she has a hard time walking she's probably thinking that the doctor might as well have told her to climb Mount Everest as to lose 50 pounds.

It depends on how many bad eating habits you have to break.

If you crave all manner of fattening foods then you'll either have to break off of those foods completely or at least be able to keep their intake to a minimum. Not easy.

It depends on how lazy you are.

We are all lazy to one degree or another. If you have led a completely sedentary (couch potato) existence for years, then getting up off the couch and moving your body enough to produce a sweat might be a monumental task and therefore crush the "easy" part out of weight loss diets.

It depends on how motivated you are and how long you can maintain your motivation.

A motivator might be that you have to lose weight before the doctor can perform an operation on you. A motivator might be that you need to lose weight to prevent or control diabetes. A motivator might be that you want to live longer and enjoy playing with your kids.

That's a quick view of some of the roadblocks that stand in the way of weight loss via dieting. Let's consider the 3 crucial factors that would make "easy weight loss diets" truly easy.

1. They should be easy to understand.

You shouldn't need a degree in nutrition science to understand the diet plan. You shouldn't need a medical dictionary at your side to understand what's being said.

2. The foods recommended should be easy to get.

You shouldn't need to go on trips to foreign lands for special herbs and seasonings.

3. The diet should be easy to maintain.

What I mean by that is the diet shouldn't be one of those severe restrictive one's that require you to only eat one type of food for an extended period of time. Nobody can maintain severe diets for very long.

Conclusion

As you can see, weight loss diets can either be extremely difficult or relatively easy depending on your physical condition and circumstances.

The biggest factor in weight loss is motivation. Without it nothing is easy and you're sunk. With it you can do anything from losing 100 pounds to climbing Mount Everest.
